Workplace Romance: Love or Liability?

Love or liability?

Is love in the air around the office water cooler?

49% of U.S. workers have had a crush on a co-worker, according to the brand-new SHRM Workplace Romance Report released today.

While work relationships are traditionally frowned upon, most survey respondents state that their relationship—whether a platonic work-spouse or romantic— improved their overall mood at work, motivation at work, and commitment to their organization.

But what does this mean for workplace culture? And how do you as an HR professional navigate the intricacies of providing proper guidelines while accounting for employee mental health?

Don't miss the chance to fall in love with your work all over again at the SHRM Annual Conference & Expo 2024 (SHRM24), June 23-26 in Chicago and virtually. With over 375 sessions across 12 content tracks, you'll be able to hear from experts on innovative ways to manage relationships and improve workplace culture.
