How Organizations Can
Take a Systematic Approach
to Pay Equity

biggest challenge
in acquiring talent?

Worries about labor shortages continue to tug at U.S. organizations. Employers said the lack of qualified candidates was their greatest challenge in acquiring talent in 2023, followed by their inability to offer competitive compensation, their demand for in-person work, and the lack of career advancement or schedule flexibility in their open positions.

Upskilling and
reskilling are vital,
but they're failing

The merging trends of AI expansion and Baby Boomer retirements are driving a greater need for new employee skills. Upskilling and reskilling the current workforce is a priority for 53 percent of organizations. However, only 21 percent of HR professionals say their organizations are currently effective in their efforts at employee upskilling and reskilling.

A great place to
work? HR and
workers don't agree

HR leaders have substantially more positive attitudes toward their organizations than other employees do. In fact, 77 percent of HR professionals would recommend their employer to others as a great place to work, compared with 53 percent of non-HR employees. Despite this, more than a quarter of HR professionals say they'll be actively seeking a new job in 2024.
