A company's chief financial officer who refused to pay an employee's wages using the proceeds from the sale of a company asset that the employee had arranged was personally liable for the unpaid wages under the California Labor Code, a California appeals court ruled.
 
 
 
New Changes to Reporting Spent Convictions in the UK
To make it easier in the United Kingdom for potential employees with criminal records to rejoin the workforce, changes made last year to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 shorten the period when certain convictions need to be reported in criminal background checks for employers.
